Top 5 Most Popular Travel Topics of 2022

Updated: Feb 16, 2023

I know that I started a little late this year on my travel blog but I have enough blogs to share with you my top 5 travel blogs that were the most popular among my website visitors. I love seeing what you guys thought was interesting!

Check out the blogs below that received the most viewers since I started the blog in September.

Number 1 - Exploring The Ohio State Reformatory: Part 1

The most popular blog was my very first one on the Ohio State Reformatory and going through the museum. The museum includes artifacts and stories from the days it was an actual reformatory. You will also see props and stories from the filming of The Shawshank Redemption.

Number 2 - Exploring The Ohio State Reformatory: Part 2: The Prison

The prison was probably my favorite and creepiest place I visited this year. We were able to explore the cells and what they looked like, the chapel, the hospital, and the library. The reformatory is said to be haunted, we didn't encounter any paranormal activity. I will warn you that if you go down to the solitary confinement area, you will get that eerie feeling in the pit of your stomach.

Number 3 - New Recipe: Cranberry Cider

This was a fun one to do and write! I love this recipe for how easy it is, for how delicious it is and how you can make it so many different ways. When I made the cider this time it was on my first camping trip to Caesar Creek State Park. It's the perfect drink for any holiday get-together or chilly day/night.

Number 4 - Abandoned Ghost Town In The Smokies - Elkmont

Ah, we love our abandoned places! They are so interesting no only because they are a little spooky but because they have a history. Much like Elkmont Ghost Town in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Elkmont started out as a logging community and grew into much more until it was officially preserved as part of the park.

Number 5 - Triberg Waterfalls In Germany

The Black Forest is something that intrigues us all because of the mysteries and folklore that has come from it. One piece of the Black Forest is Triberg Waterfalls that has been visited by many tourists over the years. It is said to be one of the highest waterfalls in all of Germany. You can guarantee that traveling to Triberg Falls will transport you to a Brothers Grimm fairytale.
